PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance a cleaning effect without uneven washing by spreading foam generated by a highly concentrated detergent solution to the entire laundry even when the amount of laundry is large.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: cloth amount detection means 26 for detecting the amount of laundry put into a rotary tub 4; water amount detection means 27 for detecting the amount of washing water; a water supply passage 17 for communicating and connecting a bottom part of a water tub 3 and a foam generating part 16 for generating foam; a pump device 18 for supplying the washing water in the water tub 3 to the foam generating part 16 via the water supply passage 17; and control means 25. At the start of washing, an impregnation step is executed in which a highly concentrated detergent solution is supplied to the foam generating part 16 generated in the washing water of a second water amount which is smaller than a first water amount of the washing water determined according to the amount of laundry detected by the cloth amount detection means 26, and in which the generated foam is introduced into the rotary tub 4 to be impregnated in the laundry. When the amount of laundry detected by the cloth amount detection means 26 is large, the second water amount is set to be larger than a predetermined amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
