<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device with improved light efficiency and luminance uniformity, and provide a display device having the same. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes a plate-like substrate 100, light emitting main bodies 200 disposed in a meandering shape so as to form meandering passages mutually separated with prescribed intervals on a first face of the substrate 100, light emitting devices 400 emitting inner light inside the main bodies 200, and external light reflecting members 300 formed between the meandering passages so as to reflect external light. Reflecting main bodies with the members 300 disposed thereon are disposed between the main bodies 200, the members 300 are disposed inside face or outside face of the reflecting main bodies, and each reflecting main body has a semicircular arch shape or a triangular shape.
