An interference fringe projection device that is provided with: a light source part 101-105 that selectively emits light that is from a coherent light source 101 from one of a plurality of light-emission parts; a polarized-wave-maintaining waveguide unit that has a plurality of PANDA fibers 106-108 (polarized-wave-maintaining waveguides) that respectively guide light that is emitted from one of the plurality of light-emission parts; a polarized-light separation part 111-113 that separates the optical paths of light emitted from the PANDA fibers 106-108 by polarization direction; and a polarizing film 114 that, for the light that is separated by the polarized-light separation part, transmits only a plane-polarized component for a specific direction. The light source part emits, to at least one of the PANDA fibers 106-108, only plane-polarized light that is parallel to one polarized-wave-maintenance direction. The polarized-wave-maintaining waveguide unit makes the light emitted from each of the PANDA fibers 106-108 have a different retardation. |
