<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for an electric compressor having sufficient differential pressure starting performance. <P>SOLUTION: At the starting, a leading phase of an electric current flowing in a motor for an induced voltage is controlled to increase, then to reduce. A plurality of setting values of the leading phase are prepared, and selected corresponding to the start-related causes. Thereby, under unstable position detecting conditions at the differential pressure starting, the phase is led as far as an electric current phase which is considered to generate the maximum torque, to start by extracting the instantaneous maximum torque of the motor, then the electric current phase is reduced to come into a stable operating state so as to obtain the driving device of the electric compressor having the sufficient differential starting performance.
