<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically generate a convenient document template. <P>SOLUTION: The template generation device 100 extracts indexes from a plurality of document data in reference to the document data. The template generation device 100 tabulates the appearance frequency for each extracted index, selects an index with high frequency therefrom, and arranges it on a template.
