PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate with a low content percentage of an acid component, which can be suitably used as a raw material of an adhesive for medical use, a coating agent for an electronic material and a photosensitive resin composition which are apt to give adverse influences by an acid.SOLUTION: The production method of 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate comprises transesterification of 1,4-butanediol with an acrylic acid alkyl ester. In the method, after the transesterification of 1,4-butanediol with an acrylic acid alkyl ester in the presence of a transesterification catalyst is carried out, 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate is extracted and recovered from a reaction mixture containing the produced 4-hydroxybutyl acrylate. |
