PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality of image data by controlling the magnitude of a voltage to be applied to a transfer part to a fixed level regardless of colors thereby eliminating influence of turning on and off of a light source on the operation of the transfer part, when supplying power from a common power source part to the light source or the transfer part.SOLUTION: An image reading device includes: a reading unit including a light source part which includes a plurality of colors of light sources each irradiating a document with light and switches the light source to be turned on in order, a line sensor part in which a plurality of photodetectors are arranged side by side, and a transfer part for sending electric charges of the photodetectors; an image processing part for generating image data on the basis of analog output values of pixels output by the reading unit; and a common power source part for supplying power to at least the light source part and the transfer part of the reading unit. The transfer part starts vertically transferring the electric charges of the photodetectors in the line sensor part after a voltage of the common power source part is recovered to a predetermined level, from turning off the light source to starting turning on the light source of the next color. |
