A method in a network node (103, 104, 111) for handling a request for an application to access a Wireless Local Area Network, WLAN (101), which application is run by a wireless device (114) and which application communicates in a cellular communications network (100). The net-work node (103, 104, 111) obtains traffic pattern information relating to the application, which traffic pattern information is derived from a deep packet inspection functionality of the cellular communications network (100). The network node (103, 104, 111) also obtains a decision whether to admit or refuse the request for the application to access the WLAN (101), which decision is based on the obtained traffic pattern data rate information. |
