Heel binding unit with climbing wedge and ski-brake assembly

The unit (10) has a climbing aid (24) displaced between an active position and a passive position. The climbing aid supports a heel section (18) of touring ski shoes (20) in a preset height above a touring ski plane (E) in the active position in a touring position of touring ski binding. A brake arrangement (22) includes a brake element, which is movable between a brake position for braking a touring ski (12) and a driving position without braking the touring ski. The aid is engaged with the brake arrangement in the touring position for holding the brake element in the driving position.
