PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve for an automatic liquid charging machine and a charging method for a range of utilization usable for a charging of low viscosity liquid as well as a charging of high viscosity liquid. SOLUTION: There is provided a valve for an automatic charging machine for charging liquid into a container and a charging method in which the valve includes a valve having its valve member acted to ascend or descend in a substantially vertical flow passage; the valve member is comprised of a connecting segment 3 for a valve rod 1, a valve disk 4 capable of being closely contacted with a valve seat 6, and a disk holder 5 having the valve disk fixed to the connecting segment; and the disk holder is of a column-like shape associated with a lower segment of the valve seat and capable of being fitted to a cylindrical pipe guiding liquid to the container and an end corner 9 not contacted with the column-like valve stick is processed with a finish of curved surface of radius of curvature of 1 to 5 mm.
