PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy bogie frame for a railway vehicle which can suppress a crack caused by stress corrosion.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a bogie frame for a railway vehicle having aluminum-alloy side beams which are separately arranged along a rail direction, and aluminum-alloy lateral beams for connecting centers of the side beams in the longitudinal direction, a tip of a vertical piece of the upper side beam which is molded into an inverted U-shape at its longitudinal cross section is made to abut on an end of the lower side beam in the width direction having a width direction dimension larger than a width direction dimension of the upper side beam, and welded to the end, and after that, a columnar tool composed of a material harder than a material of the side beam is moved along a vertical face while being rotated around its axis, and while pressing an end face of the rotating tool in the longitudinal direction against the vertical face of the lower side beam in the width direction. |
