PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active ray-curable ink jet recording method which can achieve a high-definition and natural glossy feeling in recording a non-absorbency recording medium, e.g. a film or lamination paper, or a slight-absorbency recording medium, e.g. coat paper.SOLUTION: An ink jet recording method comprises discharging an active ray-curable ink jet ink containing a color material, a photocurable monomer, a photoinitiator and 0.1-10 mass% of a gelatinizer onto a recording medium. The viscosity at 25°C of the active ray-curable ink jet ink is 10mPa s or higher and lower than 10mPa s. The difference between the gelation temperature of the active ray-curable ink jet ink and the surface temperature of the recording medium is controlled between 5-15°C. |
