A brush handle 1 comprises a slot 2 to receive a cartridge or head [fig. 2] carrying the bristles of the brush. A catch or clip 3 is included to retain the cartridge in the handle [fig. 3]. The brush may be a paintbrush. Since the bristle cartridge is detachable from the brush handle, they can be disposed of after use, and a new one fitted into the handle.
