<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a method for efficiently producing good quality molten iron from powdery iron raw material in a simple process and at low cost. SOLUTION: This molten iron producing method is provided with the following processes. (1) In a pre-reduction process for obtaining reduced iron from (a) to (c) processes, i.e., (a) the powdery iron raw material and powdery solid reducing agent are mixed to obtain the mixed material, (b) the mixed material is formed to briquetting or tile-state and charged into a heated pre-reduction furnace (rotary hearth furnace 7) and (c) fuel and oxygen-containing gas are blown into the pre-reduction furnace and kept so that the temp. in the furnace becomes >=1100 deg.C to reduce the powdery iron raw material. (2) In a process, the reduced iron is discharged from the furnace. (3) In a reducing and melting process, the discharged reduced iron is charged into a vertical furnace 10 having packing layer of carbon-aceous material in the furnace under high temp. condition, reduced and melted to obtain the molten iron and molten slag. (4) In a process, this molten iron and molten slag are ejected from an iron tapping hole at the lower part of the furnace. (5) In a gas recovery process, the generated gas (exhaust gas) from the vertical furnace is recovered.</p> |
