摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transfer of braking heat from a friction pad too a piston of a disc brake for a vehicle to the utmost. SOLUTION: Four leg pieces 10b are protrusively provided at equal spaces at the piston side face of a body part 10a of an thermal insulating plate 10, and seal grooves 10d are provided at the inner faces of the leg pieces 10b. A piston 7 is provided with four guide grooves 7d opened to a tip face 7a and the inner peripheral surface 1c, and the inner peripheral surface 7c is provided with seal grooves 7e intermittently intersecting the guide grooves 7d. The leg pieces 10b are accommodated in the guide grooves 7d to fit the insulating plate 10 to the piston 7. Annular elastic material 11 allowing relative movement of the piston 7 and insulating plate 10 is engagedly fitted to the seal grooves 7e, 10d along with a retaining ring 12, and a specified clearance C1 is set between the insulating plate 10 and the tip face 7a of the piston 7 at the time of non-operation.</p>
