<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the leakage of the hazardous material included in refuse from a refuse depot into the ground. SOLUTION: The entire part of the front surface of a mound M of the refuse in the refuse depot, such as open stock yard, is covered with a waterproof cover 1 to prevent the infiltration of rainwater and to put the inside of the mound of the refuse into a dry state, by which the elution of the hazardous material included in the refuse into the water is prevented. In addition, the moisture and water are sucked into the refuse from the inside of the ground by the sucking up of the steam by the steam percolation pressure induced by a moisture difference between the mound M of the refuse and the ground surface G and the sucking up of the water by the capillarity occurring in the difference in the moisture content between the mound of the refuse and the ground surface, by which the stream of the water heading toward the mound M of the refuse from the inside of the ground is created and the generation of the stream of the hazardous material included in the refuse from the mound of the refuse into the ground is prevented. The leakage of the hazardous material into the ground is thus completely prevented.</p> |
