Fixing system for glass panels

The system has a fitting (2) fastened to a glass element (1). The glass element includes an aperture (3) through which a fixing element (4) is guided. The fitting is coupled to the glass element by the fixing element. The aperture includes a recess (5) into which a cover (6) is receivable such that the fitting faces away from a flush surface (7). The recess is formed slightly larger than the cover with respect to base shape. The recess is formed in square or rectangular shape, and the aperture is formed in round shape. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a mounting system.
