The apparatus (10a) has an armature movably guided along a predetermined path in a base (30). An elongated measuring waveguide (50) is provided in the base to guide an electromagnetic wave, and is moved along the path. A jamming unit (22) i.e. electrical oscillating circuit, is provided in the armature, where the armature controls the electromagnetic wave in the measuring waveguide such that the wave is reflected in a region of the jamming unit. The measuring waveguide includes two elongated electrical conductors (51, 52) separated from each other during interconnection of a dielectric (54).
