The machine comprises a thrust device which locates the lower slice of bread above a movable platform where it receives the slices of the foods, and a second thrust device which locates the upper slice of bread between the two plates of a grill. These improvements are characterized in that the two aforesaid thrust devices are replaced by individual transporter arms which via their active end have a suction opening for picking up the upper and lower slices of bread, transferring them and depositing them, through cessation of aspiration, on a tray where they will receive the slices and on a separator device located between the plates of the grill, respectively. <IMAGE>
