PURPOSE:To quickly and with high precision correct the meandering motion of a strip by inclining an inlet side roll, turning it with an outlet side roll and stretching the strip on both these rolls in a U shape or an S shape. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous running line of the strip 1, the strip 1 is passed in a U shape by two rolls 6, 7 installed freely rotatably on a frame 5. The meandering motion of this strip 1 is detected by a meandering motion detector 2 on the outlet side and the rolls 6, 7 with the frame 5 are turned by an actuator 4 in the direction of an arrow to correct this meandering motion which is generated transitionally. In the displacement guide type meandering motion correcting device, an actuator 8 is arranged to the upper roll 6 to move this correcting device vertically. When a continuous meandering motion is detected by a meandering motion detector 9 arranged in the frame 5, this inlet side roll 6 is inclined suitably to correct the meandering motion of the strip 1 and then, the strip is passed through the outlet side roll 7. Consequently, the strip can correspond quickly to various meandering motions and ununiform tension on the outlet side can be reduced. |
