The invention relates to cosmetic or dermatological compositions, containing: a) at least one ascorbic acid ester, b) at least one extract of Opuntia ficus-indica, and c) at least one further plant extract, selected from Bambusa vulgaris extract and/or Pisum sativum extract, which cosmetic or dermatological compositions are suitable for lightening the skin and/or reducing pigmentation of the skin and/or equalizing skin color and/or lightening age spots and/or freckles and/or stimulating collagen synthesis and/or hyaluronic acid synthesis and/or smoothing the skin surface and/or smoothing lines and/or wrinkles and/or evening out skin imperfections and/or achieving a more even complexion.
