<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the tension servo mechanism of a magnetic recording/ reproducing device capable of performing the highly accurate tension control. CONSTITUTION: A Hall element 6, which is a tape tension detecting means for detecting the turning amount of a tension arm 2 corresponded to the difference between the tension T exerted on the tension arm 2 and an energizing force Tr, is used as the detecting means having the characteristics including the non-linear region in the relation of the turning amount of tension arm to be detected and the detected signal. An energizing force impressing means for applying the energizing force Tr to the tension arm 2 in the direction opposite to that of the tension T which is exerted on a tension post 1 by a magnetic tape 3, is constituted of an electro-magnet 7 confronted with a magnet 5. The linear region of the tension detecting characteristics is made to be utilizable in such a manner that the energizing force is changed in accordance with the running mode of the magnetic tape.</p> |
