PURPOSE: To enable the pulse rate measurement which is continuously made without consciousness. CONSTITUTION: The level of corporal motion is detected by a corporal motion detecting means 101 during the pulse rate measurement. Whether the pulse rate can be measured or not is determined by a corporal motion judging means 103. Depending upon the result of judgment, deviation of the measured value of pulse rate by the corporal motion is eliminated by selectively holding the measured data of pulse rate in a pulse rate memory means 108. Thus, it enables the pulse rate measurement and recording which are continuously made for a long time.
