A management system includes an interface board configured to provide bi-directional communication between a networking device and one or more devices, wherein the interface board is coupled to the networking device and connects to one or more devices via one or more communication protocols supported by one or more devices. The management system further includes a management module connected to the interface board with the management module configured to receive, from the interface board, data packets generated by the one or more devices, and transmit the data packets to a remote server.

a management module; and an interface board configured to:
provide bi-directional communication between the management module and one or more expansion modules, wherein the interface board communicates with the management module and connects to the one or more devices via one or more communication protocols supported by the one or more devices;receive a data packet from a first device;identify a protocol ID associated with the data packet that identifies a first communication protocol for the data packet that is supported by the first device;convert the data packet, based on the protocol ID, from the first communication protocol to a second communication protocol for transmission over a TCP/IP connection; andcommunicate the data packet in the second communication protocol to the management module.
