An item recommendation system (1) of an embodiment is provided with a first recommendation engine (11) for selecting a first recommendation item that is predicted to conform to the preference of a user from among an item group, a second recommendation engine (12) for selecting a second recommendation item that does not conform to the preference of the user but is expected to be of interest to the user, a mixer (13) for mixing the first recommendation item and the second recommendation item and generating a recommendation item group, a user interface (20) for presenting the recommendation item group to the user in an operable manner, a calculation unit (30) for calculating a rate of interest that represents the satisfaction of the user as pertains to the recommendation item group on the basis of the operation performed on the recommendation item group by the user, and a ratio control unit (40) for switching the mixing ratio of the first recommendation item and the second recommendation item in the recommendation item group on the basis of the calculated rate of interest. |
