<p>PURPOSE: To prevent an air conditioner from being stopped under an over-heated state of a power transistor for an invertor during a cooling over-loaded operation by a method wherein a heat radiation device for the power transistor for the invertor installed in the air conditioner is arranged in such a manner that it can be heat exchanged with a suction pipe of a compressor. CONSTITUTION: An inside part of a easing of an outdoor device is divided by a partition plate into a right segment and a left segment. The right segment forms a machine chamber and the left segment forms a heat exchanging chamber. Within the machine chamber are installed a compressor 5 driven by an invertor and a control box above it. Within the control box are stored a power transistor 15 for an invertor or the like. Then, a thermal radiator 15A for a power transistor 15 is arranged in such a manner that it may be heat exchanged with a suction pipe of the compressor 5, i.e., a refrigerant pipe 44 extending from a four-way valve 25 to a suction pipe of the compressor 5. Then, a bypassing pipe 42 is connected in parallel with the refrigerant pipe 44 and this bypassing pipe 42 is provided with a flow rate control valve 43.</p> |
