The invention relates to a four-stroke mixed-valve engine, wherein each cylinder is independent and oscillates from side to side with respect to a horizontal shaft parallel to the axis of the crankshaft, as a result of a rigid connection between a piston and a connecting rod, causing the piston to make the cylinder oscillate while travelling inside the cylinder sleeve. The cylinder head is provided with a curved upper face concentric with respect to the horizontal axis of the cylinder, so that the hole which opens and closes each valve in the cylinder head oscillates to one side, travelling along the corresponding exhaust duct in a back-and-forth trajectory during the upstrokes of the piston, and oscillates to the opposite side, travelling along the corresponding intake duct in a back-and-forth trajectory opposite to the first during the downstrokes. The engine functions with a single mixed-use valve for exhaust and intake. |
