FLAME SPRAYING METHOD, MANUFACTURE OF SLIDE MEMBER HAVING FLAME-SPRAYED LAYER AS FORMING SLIDE SURFACE, PISTON, AND MANUFACTURE OF THE PISTON

PURPOSE:To provide manufacture of a slide member wherein a flame sprayed layer having excellent wear resistance forms a slide member and to provide a piston. CONSTITUTION:In manufacture of a slide member, a granular flame spraying material is sprayed at least in a partial molten state in parallel or in an oblique direction against at least a part of the surface of a body part 1 formed of a structural material. The flame- spraying material is accumulated in a direction containing a slide surface to form a flame sprayed layer 2, and grinding or cutting in the accumulation direction of the flame-sprayed layer 2 is applied and an accumulation section forms a slide surface. A piston comprises a piston body 1 having a wide groove 11 wider than a ring groove 3; a flame sprayed layer 2 consisting of a lower flame sprayed layer 21 wherein a component flame sprayed against the outer peripheral surface thereof from an oblique direction and a component having the low melt temperature of a flame sprayed material is increased in the wide groove 11 and an upper flame sprayed layer 22 which has an increased component flame sprayed in a direction vertically to the outer peripheral surface and having the high melt temperature of the flame spraying material and is accumulated in the direction of the depth of the wide groove 11; and the ring groove 3 formed in such a way to grind or cut in the lamination direction of the upper flame sprayed layer 22.
