<p>PURPOSE:To provide a torque limiter of a paper discharge device which has a simple structure, performs its operation at a low cost, and shows torque limiter function surely when an abnormality of paper discharge occurs. CONSTITUTION:A slide helical gear 1 having an angle of torsion of approximately 30 deg. or more which can move freely along the direction of the axis is provided at a connection portion between a first drive mechanism 6 on a fixing unit 4 side and a second drive mechanism 7 of a paper discharge section 5. The slide helical gear 1 is pressed on the engagement side by spring force which is slightly larger than thrust force constantly acting when it is driven by a spring 2. When an abnormality occurs, the slide helical gear 1 moves on a guide shaft 3 against spring force of the spring, the engagement of the first and second drive mechanisms 6, 7 is released, and the rotation of a paper discharge roller 16 is stopped. A fixing unit 4 does not necessitate such a complicated mechanism as a swing-type and consists of a thrust-type mechanism.</p> |
