<p>PURPOSE:To correctly perform the tracking of a joining point even as to a steel strip made by joining short band-shaped bodies. CONSTITUTION:Windows are provided at inside and outside of a standard point, making a preceding detection position C in the passing through direction of a material as the standard point to a distance L between detection positions A and C of detecting devices 5a and 5b. A band-shaped body 1 is allowed to pass through by joining preceding material 1a and succeeding material 1b with a band-shaped body (chip plate) 11 within the above window length (W1+W2) in length. Tracking marks are provided at joining points on the chip plate and only either of the preceding material or the succeeding material. They are not provided on the other joining points, and the other joining points are treated as one body with the preceding or the succeeding steel strip. Consequently, both joining points of the chip plate, enter the inside of the window length. Even when a detecting signal from the other places of the steel strip is inputted in a detector, a joining point only one side of the chip plate is treated as a welding point on tracking, and the physical position of a welding point and the position on the tracking are coincided to the distance L.</p> |
