<p>PURPOSE:To provide a highly safe power steering device in which a steering assisting force is not made unstable even if a vehicle speed is lowered suddenly and, even if a fail-safe is activated, its operation is returned rapidly to a normal operating condition without abrupt change of steering force. CONSTITUTION:A power steering device which assists a steering force based on a torque detected by a torque sensor 2 and a vehicle speed detected in time sequence by a vehicle speed sensor 7 is provided with a deviation detector means 20 which detects a deviation between the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor 7 and the vehicle speed detected precedingly by the vehicle speed sensor 7. Also it is provided with a control vehicle speed correction means 21 which, when the deviation detector means 20 detects the lowering of a speed of a first specified value or more, uses the vehicle speed detected precedingly to control the vehicle speed for the control of steering assisting force and then, when the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor 7 is returned to a second specified value or more, nears the control vehicle speed gradually to the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor 7.</p> |
