X-TYPE ZEOLITE AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING NITROGEN FROM GAS MIXTURE BY ADSORPTION BY USING THIS ZEOLITE

PURPOSE: To enable manufacture of the subject zeolite having an excellent thermal stability and nitrogen adsorption ability at an appropriate cost by making its cation contain a specific amount at an equivalent base of lithium ions, one or two or more kinds of selected tertiary ions and other ions. CONSTITUTION: The cation contains about 50-95% lithium ions, 4-50% tertiary ions selected from aluminum, scandium, gallium, iron (III), chromium (III), indium, yttrium, one kind of lanthanide, a mixture of two or more kinds of lanthanides, and a mixture of these, and about 0-15% other ions selected from sodium, potassium, ammonium, hydronium, calcium, strontium, magnesium, barium, zinc, copper (II), and a mixture of those. Such adsorbent can be used for separating nitrogen from, for example, methane and carbon tetrachloride.
