The invention relates to a machine that travels like a car, takes off like a helicopter and flies like an aeroplane. A prime mover is arranged below the two seats - pilot and copilot - of a two-seater helicopter, moving a vertical gimbal which comprises, on the upper end thereof, the blades of a helicopter, on the roof of the machine. The machine takes off like any helicopter but has two wings like a low-wing aeroplane, pivoting on the same axis, one on each side of the machine, like a window shutter. Said wings are positioned vertically in helicopter mode and when the helicopter acquires horizontal speed, they rotate on the axis thereof into the horizontal form like an aeroplane and as the machine glides like an aeroplane, the vertical gimbal pivots from the base thereof, passing between the pilot and copilot seats, to a horizontal position, and the blades in front of the cabin blow backwards like an aeroplane. The machine lands in helicopter mode. |
