A digital data compression apparatus comprises: a domain conversion part for performing a frequency domain conversion on input digital I/Q data and outputting coefficient data corresponding to the digital I/Q data; a data conversion part for receiving an input of the coefficient data output from the domain conversion part and converting the input coefficient data of the Cartesian coordinate system into coefficient data of a polar coordinate system; and a quantization part for performing a quantization on coefficient data of the polar coordinate system output from the data conversion part.
