1. A method of selectively routing a file system object from a first memory device to a second memory device, the method comprising:
performing by a processor configured to carry out selective routing under control of a monitoring application which includes an intermediate partition with redirect information, wherein the processor has operable connections to the first memory device and the second memory device for such selective routing:
determining whether to route the file system object from the first memory device to the second memory device;in response to determining to route the file system object:
causing the file system object to be routed to a location in the second memory device; andupdating the intermediate partition's redirect information with the location of the file system object in the second memory device,causing a directory of the first memory device to redirect to the intermediate partition, the directory for an operating system to resolve paths for file system objects stored in the first memory device, such that using the directory of the first memory device directs to the intermediate partition and using the intermediate partition directs to the location of the file system object in the second memory device. |
