<p>PURPOSE: To provide an electronic device which exhibits exotic electron emission characteristics by setting apertures which are respective to several field emission devices. CONSTITUTION: Several conductive or semi-conductive paths 432 and 434 are arranged on the main surface of a support base 401. An insulating layer 402 is formed with openings 404 and 405 having a first aperture penetrating through the support base 401 and a second aperture different from the first aperture. Electron emitters 406A, 406B, 407A and 407B are so arranged as to make contact with the conductive or semi-conductive paths 432 and 434 in the opening parts 404 and 405. Voltage sources 440 and 442 arranged on the insulating layer 402 in peripherally symmetrical relation to the openings 404 and 405 are associated with the conductive or semi-conductive paths 432 and 434. In addition, an extraction electrode 403 is so constituted as to realize several field emission devices which induce different electron emissions from the electron emitters 406A, 406B, 407A and 407B in the openings 404 and 405 having different apertures.</p> |
