COLLABORATIVE SHARING OF MEDIA DATA

Collaborative media data sharing is achieved by receiving an identifier of a media content transmitted to a user equipment (1) over a long-range wireless communication network from a media server (4) and position information defining a position within the media content. Target user equipment (2, 3) that will at least temporarily be within a range of a short-range wireless connection to the user equipment (1) is identified. Media data of the media content selected based on the identifier and the position information or fetching instructions enabling fetching of the media data from the media server (4) is transmitted to the target user equipment (2, 3) together with set-up instructions enabling the target user equipment (2, 3) to set up short-range wireless connection to the user equipment (1) to transmit the media content to the user equipment (1) over the short-range wireless connection.
