This switching element drive device is provided with a switching element (50), a driver circuit (20) and a parallel circuit (30). The switching element (50) has a control terminal, a first terminal and a second terminal, and in accordance with a voltage applied to the control terminal, adopts a state of conduction or a state of non-conduction between the first terminal and the second terminal. The driver circuit controls the voltage applied to the control terminal of the switching element, and when the switching element is to be changed from the state of conduction to the state of non-conduction, the driver circuit connects the control terminal to a connection destination having the same potential as the second terminal, in order to reduce the potential difference between the control terminal and the second terminal. The parallel circuit includes a capacitor (31) and an impedance element (32) inserted into the pathway by which the driver circuit connects the control terminal to the connection destination having the same potential as the second terminal. |
