The present invention relates to a disposable, single use tamper-evident seal for electricity meters, with a padlock-type mechanical lock, for sealing or closing a container, box, door, cabinet, meter, valve, pump, bag, sack, tank, etc., the seal being used primarily for electricity meters commonly used in countries in North America, Central America and South America. The purpose of the seal is to protect against and monitor the theft of electricity, guaranteeing the security thereof. The tamper-evident seal has a unique form that fits exactly with the cavities of the meters and pushes into place. Therefore, if the seal is outside of the cavity, the external manipulation thereof is obvious. The seal also comprises a cover, a base, a continuity-based verification system, and a tag or an RFID tag to guarantee the integrity of the seal. |
