This system for generating three-dimensional image data of a target object includes: a moving-image capturing unit which is moved around all or part of the periphery of the target object and captures images of the target object at a prescribed frame rate; a moving image data storing unit which stores captured moving image data; an attitude sensor unit which detects the attitude of the moving-image capturing unit and outputs attitude sensor information; an event information acquiring unit which detects the start of imaging and acquires time information relating to the time at which imaging started, and which also acquires the attitude sensor information of the moving-image capturing unit, output from the attitude sensor unit, at a plurality of prescribed times and acquires time information relating to the times at which the attitude sensor information was acquired, and/or detects focusing of the moving-image capturing unit with respect to the target object and acquires time information relating to the time at which said focusing occurred; an event information storing unit which stores event information associating imaging start information with the time information relating to the time at which imaging started, and event information associating the attitude sensor information and/or focus detection information with the time information relating to the time at which the attitude sensor information was acquired and/or the time information relating to the time at which focusing occurred; an event information selecting unit which selects a plurality of items of event information satisfying prescribed conditions; a frame selecting unit which selects, from among a plurality of frames constituting the moving image data, frames at times corresponding to the time information of each of the selected plurality of items of event information; and a three-dimensional image data generating unit which generates three-dimensional image data of the target object on the basis of the selected plurality of frames. |
