PURPOSE:To obtain antimicrobial glass particles capable of carrying out antimicrobial action or purification of waste water and carrying out prevention of discoloration of joint sealant or wall surface layer material caused by a mold by making antimicrobial ions elute. CONSTITUTION:Particulate composite glass having antimicrobial and cariostatic properties is obtained by subjecting the surface of glass particles obtained by pulverizing water-soluble glass containing one or more kinds of metal ions of silver, copper, zinc, tin, etc., borate, halide, and/or phosphate ions in the composition to homogeneous fusion of inorganic, organic or metallic particles finer than these glass particles to carry out surface modification treatment. |
