A lithium battery management system and a control method therefor. The lithium battery management system comprises: a battery bank used for supplying power and consisting of a plurality of lithium cells; a battery pack output switch for controlling ON or OFF of an output current of a battery bank, the battery pack output switch being a normally open switch; a battery management system control unit for controlling ON or OFF of the battery pack output switch; and an output resistor disposed in parallel to the battery pack output switch. The lithium battery management system can be turned on or off by means of connection or disconnection between a battery pack having the lithium battery management system and an external device. When a user operates the external device, functions of a dedicated switch in the prior art are achieved, and the beneficial effects of cost reduction, operation convenience and the like are provided. |
