<p>PURPOSE:To utilize a resonance effect so as to improve an intake characteristic in torque valley by setting the volumes of respective side auxiliary tank chambers communicated with respective side surge tank chambers by means of respective side communication holes to a volume which synchronizes with engine speed where an engine torque valley appears. CONSTITUTION:Respective side surge tank chambers 26L, 26R are communicated by respective side branch passages 20L, 20R with respective side cylinders provided with respective side cylinder heads 6L,6R and the like of a V-type engine 2. Respective side auxiliary tank chambers 40L, 40R are communicated with respective side surge tank chambers 26L, 26R by means of respective side communication holes 44L, 44R. The respective side communication holes 44L, 44R are opened and closed by respective side control valves 46L, 46R. The respective side control valves 46L, 46R are openly and closely controlled via respective side actuators 50L, 50R by an ECU, in response to the operational condition of the V-type engine 2. Namely, a torque valley is improved and also acceleration responsiveness is improved by varying the volume of the intake system in response to the operational condition of the V-type engine 2.</p> |
