1. An ice fishing stand, comprising:
a spool, said spool having a spool axis and configured to hold a fishing line during use; a base; and a rotatable mounting arrangement that rotatably connects said spool to said base for rotation about the spool axis, wherein said spool is releasably retained relative to the base via a quick-release mechanism and, during use, rotation of said spool about the spool axis pays out the fishing line in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the spool axis, and is removable from said base by movement of the spool along said spool axis. |
