The invention relates to a method for obtaining a carboxylic acid from a fermentation broth and to a system which is designed to carry out the method. The method has the following steps: a) separating the biomass from the fermentation broth, which contains a salt of the carboxylic acid, in order to produce a low-biomass solution; b) concentrating the salt of the carboxylic acid in the low-biomass solution; c) acidifying the concentrated solution; and d) precipitating the carboxylic acid obtained by the acidification. The invention further relates to a corresponding system for obtaining a carboxylic acid.
