A method for maintenance of a transportation facility (22) within a building comprises: receiving image data (26) of a component (24) of the facility (22), the image data (26) generated with a camera (18) of a mobile device (12) directed towards the component (24); identifying the component (24) by evaluating the image data (26); retrieving maintenance data (40) associated with the identified component (24) from a central maintenance database (14); and displaying the maintenance data (40) in the mobile device (12).
