The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a panel (1) of a vehicle tailgate, which includes the following steps: providing a panel (1), including: a body (2) defined at the periphery thereof by an edge (4), made of thermoplastic material; a linking member (6) secured to the edge and intended for being secured to the vehicle; at least one reinforcement (8) secured to the edge and to the linking member at a predetermined position; determining an area of maximum mechanical stress (26) generated in the edge near the linking member during at least one operating condition of the vehicle tailgate, and determining the shape and the position of the reinforcement in accordance with the predetermined maximum mechanical stress area, such that the reinforcement spans the maximum mechanical stress area. |
