1. A palladium(II) complex of formula (1): wherein: Pd⊕ is a cationic palladium atom; R1 and R2 are independently organic groups having 1-20 carbon atoms, or R1 and R2 are linked to form a ring structure with E; R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10 and R11 are independently —H or organic groups having 1-20 carbon atoms; or R1/R3 or R2/R3 forms a ring structure with the atoms to which they are attached and in this instance R4/R5, R5/R6, R7/R8, R8/R9, R9/R10 or R10/R11 may independently form a ring structure with the carbon atoms to which they are attached or R1, R2, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10 and R11 are as defined above; R12 is an organic group having 1-20 carbon atoms; m is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5; E is P or As; and X⊖ is a non-coordinated anionic ligand. |
