a plurality of content addressable memory modules that are configured to compare in parallel an entry item with their content, said list being represented by the concatenation of the valid content of said memories in an order defined by a priority list, a module for determining, in said priority list, the first module for which the entry item matches an item stored in said module, and a module for reading the first item of said determined module matching the entry item.
