A power supply apparatus comprising: one or more memories; and circuitry which, in operation: controls stoppage of a supply of power through the power supply apparatus to an electrical device when a command to stop the supply is received, performs a first communication and receives the command, through a first communication path; performs a second communication through a second communication path; controls the performance of the first communication until the command is received through the first communication path; and prohibits the performance of the first communication and controls the performance of only the second communication path, after the command is received through the first communication path, wherein the circuitry prohibits the supply of power from a power grid to an electrical device and controls power from a predetermined storage battery to be supplied to the electrical device, after the command is received through the first communication path, the power supply apparatus operates in one of a plurality of modes including a first mode and a second mode, and operates in the first mode when the command is not received and operates in the second mode upon receiving the command, and the circuitry controls the performance of the first communication during operation in the first mode, and prohibits the performance of the first communication and controls the performance of only the second communication during operation in the second mode, and wherein during operation in the second mode, the circuitry controls stoppage of only the supply of the power from the power grid to the electrical device, out of power supply apparatus and the electrical device, and the power supply apparatus operates under the power from the power grid even during operation in the second mode.
